ShareboxedUsing Dropbox with Shareboxed
Shareboxed uploads straight into your own Dropbox. Nothing to type: press Connect… in the connection settings and sign in on Dropbox's own page in your browser. Shareboxed never sees your password.
What it may see
Dropbox gives the app one folder, Apps → Shareboxed, and nothing else. What you allow on the consent screen is reading your account's name and writing into that folder. Files anywhere else in your Dropbox are invisible to Shareboxed; Dropbox does not answer for them.
Where files land
One folder per upload session, named with the date down to the second, inside Apps → Shareboxed. Two batches can never overwrite each other. Dropbox syncs the files to your other devices from there.
A few names Dropbox refuses outright (.DS_Store, desktop.ini,
thumbs.db, Office lock files). Shareboxed leaves those behind instead of
failing the upload; they are system litter, not documents.
No shareable links
The Sharing switch is not offered for Dropbox. A Shareboxed link works because one request for one file can be signed without handing out the account, and Dropbox has nothing to sign with. Share from Dropbox itself (right-click the folder → Share), or use an S3 or R2 connection for batches that need a link.
When something does not work
Press Test Connection first. What it can say:

| Not reachable | No network, or Dropbox did not answer. |
Two more that only show up later:
- Uploads stop with Dropbox token expired: the access was revoked, or the app's permissions changed after this account was connected. Connecting the account again fixes both.
- Uploads stop with This Dropbox is full: the account is out of storage.
